SWAN PRINCESS by PSYBOLORD

SWAN PRINCESS is a tribute to the legacy of the outstanding creators from the Silver Age of Russian culture and art ( end of 19th c. – start of 20th c. – this period in Russia is characterized by the abundance of prominent poets, philosophers etc.), modern “Russian Seasons” (1907-1929 tour performances of the Russian Ballet dancers)in electronic music. The musical canvas of the album itself represents a vibrant and colourful pallette of such genres as French House, Synthwave, Electro, and Midtempo Techno. From time to time a listener might get the vibe of completely unexpected musical influences. Spice it up with a specific track theme traditionally containing Russian culture code – and voilà – here is the brand new Psybolord album!

“Old Gurls”

I don’t suit you well
You don’t like my name
So just go to your girl
And don’t blame me

Couldn’t know me right
Babe I’m not your type
You’re not mine by the way
I am not a senior lady

In a shop in a cafe you’re seeking
A senior lady

Old girls like some young men
I know it
Being by their side

Old girls like some young men
I know it
Being by their side

Looking for a purse
Living in reverse
She just wants your attention
When you need money

Let her underneath
Baby see you on your knees
Praying for a penny penny
Is it slavery?

Old girls like some young men
I know it
Being by their side

Old girls like some young men
I know it
Being by their side

“Derevetse” (“A Little Tree”)

O’er there a storm cloud’s sulking in the sky,
With a sullen gale it broke a little tree,
Tree tumbled down and embraced the grass,
Now there’s no shady place for maidens’ cheerful songs.

The bells are ringing their bitter song since dawn,
Under the pinewood cross the pit is damp and muggy,
And mournful maidens weep o’er that poor grave
And spill their teardrop-gems onto the ground.

No more daring thoughts in those restive locks,
No more fair sparkle of his words for centuries to come,
What were you thinking with your heated soul?
How could you think those thoughts as bold as brass?

Why haven’t you, young fellow, stayed brave until the end?
For that now all the folk can see you on the wooden post
With swift whips dancing on your poor back
With salt of tears dripping down on the wounds.

Why haven’t you, young fellow, waited till the summer?
Why haven’t you cared to see your mother and your father?
What were you thinking with your heated soul?
How could you think those thoughts as dark as night?

No more daring thoughts in those restive locks,
No more fair sparkle of his eyes for centuries to come
